The Background
The Federal Court of Fiscal and Administrative Justice (Spanish: Tribunal Federal de Justicia Fiscal y Administrativa (TFJFA)) is the highest federal court and judiciary institution in the United Mexican States for Fiscal and Administrative matters and operates regional offices across the country.
The Challlenge
Due to the confidential nature of the institution activities and information, security becomes an extremely important issue. For this reason the organization requires stringent security measures for information management. The project aimed to develop fingerprint-based biometric secure information management system over its 22 offices in various locations.
The Solution
Sistemas Integrales de Automatizacion, S.A. de C.V. (SIASA), a renowned system integrator and Xperix’s partner company in Mexico, won the project with Xperix’s BioMini, USB fingerprint scanner and SIASA’s own application for hardware compatibility.
To meet the Federal Government’s challenging requirements for security, Xperix’s BioMini biometric solution was selected. Sealed in ergonomically designed housing, BioMini fingerprint scanner provides highest image quality which meets international standards such as ISO 19794-2/ANSI378 and FIPS201. BioMini Solution also comes with full SDK supports to provide easier integration for developers.
BioMini fingerprint scanners were plugged in registration PC’s in each location with USB 2.0 interface, and used to capture and store fingerprints from authorized employees to allow them access to the information system.
With the initial project, over 800 units of BioMini fingerprint scanners were installed in 22 different locations.
